Goals & Weekend Recap

I set weekend goals on Friday and I accomplished most of them.

This Weekends Goals:
- Don't pig out at the Crop (They always have good food and snacks)
- Get in a run (3 miles)  I did 2 miles
- Take Zach to the park on Sunday (weather permitting) to play Weather did not cooperate so we ran around the house - LITERALLY! My son wanted to be chased so we RAN around the house.
- organize shelves in laundry room

I need to set small goals every week and try my best to accomplish them. My ultimate goal is to make some of these lifestyle changes and that by setting smaller goals each week will build up to where I want to be. I'm hoping that joining Operation Skinny Jeans in this Weekly Goals Check in Link Party will make me more accountable. So here goes...

Operation Skinny Jeans

My goals this week are as follows:

1. Work out Two times this week
2. Organize shelves in laundry room
3. CUT BACK ON DAIRY - I have really slipped the past couple weeks with this. We still have no items that contain dairy in the house, but I had to get Subway a couple times last week, and even got a couple iced coffees on the warm days and indulged in the snacks here in the office. I need to get back to being in control!

I will share my 10 week goals later this week as I sort out what I want to do.

MY WEEKEND:
I ran this weekend for the first time in almost 3 months. It wasn't as bad as I thought but wasn't as good either. I ran about 2 miles then I needed to stop. :( I'm going to run again this Wednesday and see how I do. What did I expect? To just bust out a 5K like it was nothing after 3 months...yes...hahaha...didn't happen!

My goal now is to make sure I can at least run (maybe not the fastest) the entire Color me Rad on May 11th. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I got a sneak peek of my son's one year photo shoot.

Seriously...he's so adorable! I can't wait to see the rest!

I went to scrapbook all day Saturday and I got a lot accomplished. My problem is that I do a little bit of everything. I'm doing another all day scrapbook event on May 10th and I need to set specific goals before moving on to another project.

I tried Project Life for the first time. I didn't spend too much time on it but I think I'm hooked. I'll focus more on that in May. It may be just what I'm looking for.

I forget how much I love to scrapbook when I don't do it for a while. I need to start making more time for this.

  1. Hi, found you through the link-up party at OSJ.

Can I ask what the purpose of cutting out dairy is? I've been reading about negative effects of it in a book by Jackie Warner (had no clue dairy products weren't good for you and your body) but was curious what your reasoning behind it was?

Great goals though...my laundry room (closet) needs some desperate organization too!!

    1. Thanks! This link here sums it up pretty good. http://vegan.com/dairy-free/. I also recommend watching 'Forks over Knives'. You can stream it instantly if you have Netflix. The book 'Skinny Bitch' talks about it too and she's hilarious!

Thank you! I'm hoping setting my goals publicly will motivate me more!

    2. Really interesting article. I'm not sure I could cut out all dairy (and my boyfriend really wouldn't go for it!) but it really makes you think about it. I've recently switched over to almond milk and really like it but I'm not sure I could give up cheeses!

    3. Cheese is the reason I can't call myself a Vegan! LOL. I love it!
