Half Marathon

For a really long time now, I have been contemplating signing up for the Detroit Free Press Half marathon. It's not that I think I can't do it. It's simply the thought that I don't have the time to train for it. Lately, I've been heading to my Mom's house on Saturday mornings and letting Zach play while I go out for a run. I've been having great runs and have been feeling extra motivated. So I did it.

I signed up to run my first half marathon!

I can't wait! This course is amazing! You have to have your passport in order to run. You start in the city, cross over the Ambassador bridge, run along the Detroit River on the Canadian side and then cross back through the tunnel.
I'm super nervous, but I know that I can do it. If I have to walk a little, I will. And I will not feel bad about it! These pictures really motivate me and I can't wait for this experience!

The runners on the Ambassador Bridge!

Running through the tunnel.

I don't have a lot of time to train for this, and that is why I think I will end up walking for some portions of the course. I am going to seriously try my best to get in a short run throughout the week, but I know I can do the long runs below. I know it's crazy, but I'm going to give it my best shot!

Long Training Runs:
August 31st - Swampfoot 4 Mile
September 7th - 6 miles
September 14th - 7 miles
September 21st - 8 miles
September 28th - 9 miles
October 5th - 10 miles
October 12th - 11 miles
October 20th - RACE DAY!
